Does former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's refusal to be a part of the effort to pull down the Congress government factor in the meeting and reconciliation

With just 4 days left before the Assembly session convenes at Jaipur, former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA from Tonk, Sachin Pilot met the top brass at the Congress offices in New Delhi.

AICC organisation secretary KC Venugopal confirmed the meeting between Sachin, Rahul and Priyanka. He added that Sachin Pilot has committed to work in the interest of the Congress party and the Congress government in Rajasthan. This meeting probably signals an amicable end to the month long political drama in Rajasthan where the entire cabinet was split in two separate hotels, one in Jaipur and the rebels in Manesar. The month long event in Rajasthan had the Ashok Gehlot government singing a see-saw, with MLAs on the political chessboard.

The Congress today said that a 3 member panel will be instituted to look into the grievances of Sachin Pilot and the rebel MLAs in Rajasthan. As per sources, it is doubtful that the Congress will reinstate Sachin as the party's state chief. Removing Ashok Gehlot from the post of Chief Minister is also out of the question.

Earlier the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had assured reconciliation with the rebels if the party leadership was in favour.

The Gehlot government also withdrew the sedition charge from three FIRs lodged by the SOG of Rajasthan Police. These FIRs were one of the main reasons for the rebellion by Sachin Pilot.

On Sunday, Gehlot told his party legislators to show unity on the floor once the assembly session is conducted. The Congress Legislature Party was held in Jaisalmer.

With nearly 53,000 positive cases, Rajasthan is reeling under the COVID19 pandemic and it is in the interest of the party to achieve reconciliation and move forward for its people.
