Reconstruction of Satoriya Nala Starts
Residents of sub-urban areas of Udaipur including Tekri, Paneriyon ki Madri, New Swami Nagar and close by localities will be relieved from flood and water logging situations due to heavy rains as Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) has started working on increasing the width of ‘Satoriya Nala’ Goverdhan Sagar Canal, which is considered to be the main cause of seasonal setback.
It is expected that the work will get over by June this year, however due to scores of solid waste there is still too much to do.

It is expected that the work will get over by June this year, however due to scores of solid waste there is still too much to do.
It is to be noted that Satoriya Nala is coming from Lake Goverdhan Sagar and is about 4 feet wide. It carries huge amount of water when it enters New Swami Nagar where its width has been reduced to 2 feet which results in water logging in the area.
Sanjeev Sharma, Executive Engineer of UIT said, “According to the current project, this part of the canal will be 9 feet wide and 20 feet deep and it will be covered with concrete surface at bottom and side walls.”
According to the information, localities of Tekri have been giving memorandum to Udaipur Municipal Council regularly from last many years. One of the regular readers of UT said, “The residents are requesting concerned authorities about the problem from last 7 years, but no appropriate action has been taken, it’s good if they have decided something now.”
The tender of the work was given by UIT and it is almost done from New Swami Nagar to Paneriyon Ki Madri.
There is no confirmation from the authority that what would be done to the remaining parts of Sataoriya Nala?
