Red Fort Blast: 8 Suspects Allegedly Planned Major Terror Plot
Suspects believed to have planned serial blasts across India; Al-Falah University comes under intense scrutiny
Nov 13, 2025 – investigators probing the Red Fort blast believe that eight people were behind planned serial blasts meant to be carried out across the country, say media reports quoting sources. It is also alleged that people linked to the terror module had been plotting the blasts for more than a year. Names like Maulvi Irfan, Dr Adil and Dr Muzammil have come up on suspicion of being the ones who had prepared the entire network. They are believed to have received weapons from a Pakistan handler in 2021 and 2023.
According to sources, the suspects had allegedly planned to move to four cities in groups of two each and carry explosives with them. It is believed that Muzammil and Dr Umar had been collecting explosives and around Rs 20 lakhs in cash had been given to the latter before the Delhi blast. Umar is said to be the one to have triggered the Delhi blast.
Meanwhile, security agency teams have barred the entry of the media into Al-Falah University. According to some students, about 10 people have been taken away from the university in the last two days, including five students, two PG students, and three junior resident doctors. Investigators have allegedly described the institution as a “refuge for terror-linked individuals operating under professional cover.”
Al-Falah University vice chancellor Bhupinder Kaur issued a statement on Wednesday, November 12, saying the university was only connected to the doctors in an official capacity and that all cooperation was being extended to the security agencies in their probe.
