In an attempt to conserve the environment, rental cycles are going to be made available at Fateh Sagar Lake for Rs 10 an hour from tomorrow onwards.

This scheme was inaugurated today at 9am by G.S Sandhu, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing.

Nagar Parishad is executing this scheme through third party contractors who have been given this contract for one year. A kiosk will be set up near Moti Magri gate to give the cycles on rent. An arrangement of ten cycles has been made initially, which will be increased as per the increase in demand. A separate arrangement of cycles will be made for women and children.

This, along with conserving the environment will help reduce traffic near the lake.

G.S Sandhu, after inaugurating the rent-a-bicycle, paddled a few meters with many administrative officials including UMC Chairperson Rajni Dangi and many ward councilors and enjoyed the scenic beauty of Lake Fateh Sagar.

Thereafter, he also took a ride on the Jetski with District Collector Hemant Gera, Rajni Dangi and Roop Kumar Khurana, UIT Chairperson.

While talking to the media, Sandhu expressed his joy of visiting the City of Lakes. He said that providing cycles for tourists is a great initiative by Udaipur administration.
