Two days ago, a shocking incident took place at Kota, where after the death of a premature baby in the ICU,around 200-250 people came and beat up the entire staff of the hospital including the sweeper, ward boys to Senior Surgeons and Senior Doctors.  This incident has apparently annoyed the entire Doctor community, who has demanded strict action against the administration, informed Kaptan Singh, President of the Resident Doctor Association.

Kaptan Singh also informed that they condemn the incidents that have happened with the Doctors in the whole country and they are also not happy with the things that have happened in past with the Doctors where Doctors and Attendants of the patients came face to face in the last two years in M.B Hospital.

Kaptan Singh has highlighted their three main demands:

  1. Enforcing the norms of Doctors and Medical Staff Anti-Violence Act 2008 in which it was clearly written that if anyone will fight with or provoke any of the medical staff to fight, he / she will be punished strictly
  2. Applying the section of Rajya Karya Me Bhadha on the all those anti-social aliments who fight with or beat medical staff at the time of his /her duty,
  3. All the C.Os and C.Is posted in the Police stations near M.B hospital will be held responsible if there is any delay in reaching the spot.

Additionally, the Resident Doctors are also demanding that the administration does proper arrangements for the safety and security of the Doctors within the premises of the hospital so that incidents similar to what happened in Kota are not repeated.

When Kaptan was asked about the inconvenience of the common man in their absence, he said that in their absence Senior Doctor will be present to look after the patients.  He added that the Government has all sorts of alternatives available in these times.
