Udaipur, December 9, 2024 - The inauguration of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit will be held today in Jaipur Exhibition Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura, Jaipur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the summit. Several VVIP industrialists and investors will attend the three-day event, including Gautam Adani and Anand Mahendra.

With the opening of the summit, Rajasthan will move towards becoming a hub for industrial development. The State has already got investment proposals of around Rs 25 lakh crore. Around 11 new industrial areas are set to be launched as part of the investment summit. And the foundation for 20 more will be laid. More than 7,000 new industries will be set up, with both domestic and foreign companies making investments.

The Investment Summit, which will continue until December 11, will serve as a platform for investors, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and the government to come together and explore various avenues for collaboration, investment and industrial development in Rajasthan. It will bring businesses together showcasing the State's opening towards oppportunities. The programme will include an MSME Conclave and a Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave.

As part of this initiative, the State Government is working on developing 31 new industrial parks. For this, around 12,000 acres of land have been earmarked, where more than 7,000 plots will be created. Industries will develop rapidly through Gati Shakti (the National Master Plan for Infrastructure), and products will be manufactured within the State using local raw materials.

The rapid development of industries in Rajasthan will be significantly supported by the railway and road networks. Steps are being taken to improve connectivity.

Jaipur airport has facilities for operational work. The work on converting the Delhi-Mumbai railway route into a semi-high-speed corridor is progressing rapidly. Trains will operate at speeds of 160 km per hour on the 1,384-kilometre-long railway route between Delhi and Mumbai. This will reduce travel time between New Delhi and Mumbai by 3.5 hours.

The country's longest eight-lane expressway passes through the State, with 90 percent of the work completed. A 374-kilometre stretch of this expressway runs through Rajasthan. This will reduce the time taken for freight transportation by 50 percent. The expressway passing through Rajasthan will connect major cities in the State to Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. It will link economic hubs like Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh and Udaipur in Rajasthan, with cities like Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat. Improved connectivity with these economic centres will bring economic prosperity.

Rajasthan provides access to almost 40 percent of India's market in neighbouring States. It has the third-largest network of national highways in the country, with 20 major national highways, which provide easy access to important ports like Mundra and Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), as well as eight container depots.
