Construction progress of the PG hostel, situated in front of the Children's Hospital within the RNT Medical College campus and funded at a cost of Rs. 59 crores, has experienced a notable slowdown. Despite receiving approval a decade ago, the project has only been allocated a budget of Rs. 3.5 crores for the hostel's development. Currently, work has been limited to basement parking and the installation of first-floor pillars. Due to financial constraints, the contractor has been limited to undertaking minor tasks. The Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (RSRDC), responsible for the project, has been in communication with the college principal and RajMES urging the prompt release of additional budgetary funds. However, as of now, the necessary budget has not been secured, impeding the construction's progress.

On September 28, 2022, the Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (RSRDC) initiated a tender process for the construction of PG Boys and Girls Hostels, adhering to the approved budget. The timeline for this project spans until March 27, 2024. However, the progress of the hostel's construction, designed with a ground-plus-seven-floor configuration, has currently only advanced to the first floor. Within the scope of this project, a total of 504 rooms are intended to be constructed within the building. Simultaneously, the deconstruction of the girls' hostel has been successfully accomplished. In addition to the basement parking facilities, the forthcoming G+6 floor structure is slated to accommodate 144 rooms.

Lokesh Meena, an official from the Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (RSRDC), has revealed that they have consistently engaged with the Principal of RNT Medical College, urging timely completion of the construction project. In light of the project's setbacks, a request has been made for a budget allocation of Rs 25 crore from RajMES Jaipur. However, the progress of this request is currently stalled within the finance department. Presently, the focus is on preparing to finalize the roof installation for the first floor of the PG Hostel. In response, Principal Vipin Mathur has expressed that diligent efforts are being exerted to secure the necessary budget and anticipates its approval in the near future.
