Resident Doctors at all hospitals attached to RNT Medical College in Udaipur will be on strike on 31 July. The Residents are on striked to protest the non payment of stipend. The total count of residents include 631. Over 60 senior residents are also supporting the strike.
In order to ensure that the task force is available both in the hospitals and in College, the leaves of faculty practitioners has been cancelled. The hospital administration has also demanded additional healthcare personnel to man the hospitals that will be under duress during the strike period. There are over 8,000 walk in patients at the OPD in MB General Hospital, TB Hospital, Women's Hospital, satellite at Hiran Magri, Chandpol, Ambamata, etc, which could get these establishment under stress in terms of availability of Doctors for the day.
The resident doctors have gone on strike, saying that since October 2022, their stipend is not being paid on time. The hospital administration, on the other hand, as per media reports, says that only one months stipend of the 2021-22 batch of residents is on hold due to the absence of their Pay Manager ID. The Vice Principal has assured that the dues will be cleared by 2 August.
