Udaipur, December 30,2024 - The Transport Department will launch its Road Safety Month on January 1. The campaign will focus on taking action against traffic rule violations and raising public awareness about road safety. In collaboration with the PWD, safety measures will be enhanced at black spots across the district. Illegal road cuts will also be closed to prevent accidents.
Teams Deployed on Highways
Special teams will be stationed on key highways, including Gogunda, Nathdwara, Chittorgarh, Ahmedabad, and Salumber. These teams will issue challans to drivers for not wearing seat belts, driving unfit vehicles, and breaking traffic rules.
Action After Recent Bus Accident
The campaign follows a recent sleeper bus accident from Udaipur, which collided with an LPG tanker in Jaipur. As a precaution, illegal cuts on the Udaipur-Chittorgarh highway have already been closed. However, black spots remain a concern, especially on the Udaipur-Gogunda and Nathdwara highways.
Theme: ‘Parvah’ (Care)
This year’s campaign theme is ‘Parvah.’ Under this initiative, vehicle drivers will undergo eye check-ups with support from the medical department. Additionally, school children will receive training on transport and traffic rules to promote awareness from an early age.
