Roadways Workers continues Protest against Privatization
Workers of Rajasthan State Transport Corporation (RSRTC) carried out a mass demonstration today at Udaipur Bus Depot. Roadways workers of around 10 bus depots gathered to register their protest. The protest intends to call off the proposed privatization of Transport Corporation.

Mahesh Upadhaya, Union Leader, informed that during the protest over 1500 roadways employees gathered at Udaipur bus depot. The workers also performed Sad-Buddhi Yagya for state government, taunting state ministry to take the right decision.
Upadhaya added that in the protest, roadways workers of 10 bus depot across the district had participated, which includes Udaipur, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Chittod, Bhilwada, Ahmedabad, Banswara, Sirohi, Pratapgargh and Falna.
“If the government does not call off this proposed privatization, than roadways workers will make the demonstrations more violent”, said Mahesh Upadhaya.
The decision of privatization was proposed in the recently held State Budget meet at Jaipur. Due to privatization, identity of State Transport Corporation will suffer along with its employees. The proposal has clauses according to which RSRTC will not be able purchase new buses, moreover will also be restricted to appoint new employees.
Soon after the decision came out workers of RSRTC has started protesting demanding to stop privatization. In a chqin of demonstrations of over a month, workers have enforced Chakka Jam on 30-31st July, after a peaceful protest of more than a month.
