Robbers get away with tar tanker in Tidi area
Tar tanker stolen at Tidi.
Going away for tea and snacks proved to be a big loss for a tanker driver. While the tanker driver was having tea with 2 others at a dhaba, robbers managed to escape with the tanker.
A tanker full of tar used in road construction got stolen from Tidi highway on Tuesday night. Police forces were sent towards Nathdwara and Mangalwad areas but did not get any clue of the stolen tanker. As per Gosai Jat of Barmer who happens to be the tanker owner as well, he filled the tanker with tar from Gujarat and was on his way to Bhilwara. His assistant was also with him. Around 8 p.m. they parked the tanker in front of Tidi petrol pump. They were also waiting for another tanker coming from Udaipur from whom they had to take 5000 rupees. Since both of them were sleepy, they slept in the tanker’s cabin while waiting for Udaipur tanker.
Around 10 p.m. Narayan Singh from Udaipur reached the petrol pump with the cash amount. After this, the three of them went across the road to the dhaba to have tea. After about 20 minutes, when they returned to the petrol pump, they found the tanker missing. Gosai Jat lodged a complaint with the nearby police station. Police checked most of the CCTV footage of that area but did not find the tanker anywhere.
