Makeover for ITIs; Rs 241 Cr for Bhiwadi Hub-Spoke Cluster
The proposed 12 Hub-Spoke Clusters across Rajasthan will help modernise government ITIs by introducing advanced technology, improved training facilities and stronger linkages with industries
UdaipurTimes, Oct 12, 2026 - The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has initiated the transformation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the PM-SETU (Prime Minister’s Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs) scheme.
In this direction, the National Steering Committee has approved a strategic investment plan worth Rs 241 crore for the Bhiwadi Cluster in Rajasthan. A Shareholders’ Agreement was signed between the Central Government, the State Government and the Anchor Industry Partner, making Rajasthan the first State to sign such an agreement.
The proposed 12 Hub-Spoke Clusters across Rajasthan will help modernise government ITIs by introducing advanced technology, improved training facilities and stronger linkages with industries. These clusters will be located in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bharatpur, Banswara, Balotra, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Kotputli, Sikar and Pali.
The PM-SETU scheme has a total outlay of Rs 60,000 crore, comprising Rs 30,000 crore from the Central Government, Rs 20,000 crore from State Governments and Rs 10,000 crore from the industry. Under the scheme, 1,000 government ITIs — 200 hubs and 800 spokes — will be upgraded.
Young people in Rajasthan will receive training in more than 32 new courses covering emerging technologies and sectors, including:
- Artificial Intelligence and robotics
- Drone technology
- 5G networks
- Electric vehicles
- Cybersecurity
- Additive manufacturing
- Green energy
- Construction automation
Additionally, five National Skill Training Institutes are being developed into Centres of Excellence through international partnerships. This initiative will also provide ITI instructors in Rajasthan with access to internationally benchmarked training.
Effective implementation of PM-SETU in Rajasthan is expected to play an important role in strengthening the State's technical education and skill development ecosystem while creating new employment opportunities for its youth.
