Rs. 5 Lakh Robbery Busted, 8 arrested
In another major accomplishment by the Udaipur Police, 7 people were arrested at Pratapnagar for robbing Rs.5.30 lac. The robbery, which took place on March 21 near R Kay Mall, Panchwati had the citizens in a state of high concern as to the lawlessness in the city.
All arrested originally hail from Gujarat. One TATA Sumo and three motorcycles have been recovered from the arrested.

All arrested originally hail from Gujarat. One TATA Sumo and three motorcycles have been recovered from the arrested.
The seven culprits were presented before court and sent on remand till 10th April, 2012.
Shashikant Kumar Vatunge(30), Praffulbhai Tamichi(34), Guru Badrange(20), Mukesh Tamichi (32), Kishan Avbegar( 30), Dinesh Udradan and Jagdish Rathore (34) all are residents of Kubernagar and Naroda areas of Ahmadabad.
Another culprit, Vishal Ganerge was arrested three days back from Devgarh, Dahod district, Gujarat and in the initial interrogation, he revealed the names of other gang members including their leader Shashikant.
According to C.I. Ratan Chawla of Hathipol police station, “we got the information through our sources that Shashikant and his gang members were coming from Delhi and going to Gujarat and would pass through Udaipur on 5th April.”
Acting on the tip off, a joint operation was led under the direction of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dayanand Sarang, station head officers of three police stations including Hathipol, Ghantaghar and Sukher conducted an immense checking at Pratapnagar road on 5th April and detained 7 people travelling in a brand new TATA sumo car having a Gujarat number plate.
All the suspects were arrested at around 11pm and when questioned they revealed their identities and also accepted their involvement in the robbery of Rs.5.30 Lac from Housing Finance Agent, Trilok Mishra on Wednesday, 21st March.
While informing about their technique, one of the police officers said that the gang used to work in group of 2 on one bike each. They used to keep a close watch on bank activities and look for targets carrying large amounts of cash.
On 21st March, two people on a bike intentionally hit the car of Trilok, who was carrying more than Rs.5 Lac. They acted as if they were hurt and deviated the victim, while other robber on a bike came and took away the cash from the car. The other member kept a vigil at a corner of the road to give backup to his colleagues.
After executing the task they kept the robbed amount in their car and dispersed. They later divided the booty and moved out of the city.
