Son Demands 'Proof of Life' Amid Imran Khan's Health Rumours
Kasim Khan alleges Imran Khan is being kept in a 'death cell' at Adiala Jail; authorities deny the claims even as protests escalate
Nov 28, 2025 – Speculations surrounding the condition of Imran Khan, former Pakistan Prime Minister and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, continue to mount even as his son Kasim Khan has appealed to the international community to intervene in the matter urgently claiming his father has been kept in a “death cell” in Adiala Jail.
In a post on X, Kasim wrote, "This absolute blackout is not a security protocol. It is a deliberate attempt to hide his condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe.”
Government authorities have, on the other hand, rubbished these claims and said the jailed leader was fully healthy and receiving complete medical attention.
The Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi is infamous for housing dangerous inmates thus fuelling rumours and concerns among Khan’s family members and party workers for his safety and health. According to a PTI spokesperson, no one has seen Khan since November 4. His sisters have been denied family access despite weekly visitation rights granted by the Court.
On Wednesday, Khan’s three sisters and party members gathered outside the prison demanding they be allowed to meet him. They were later joined by scores of PTI workers who staged a sit-in. On Thursday, a delegation from the party also visited the prison demanding to see Khan but authorities again denied access.
Kasim, who is the younger of the two sons of Khan (the older being Sulaiman), has called the information blackout deliberate saying there was “no proof of life” and warned that “Pakistani government and its handlers will be held fully accountable — legally, morally and internationally — for my father’s safety and for every consequence of this inhumane isolation.”
Kasim has demanded “proof of life, enforce court ordered access, end this inhumane isolation and call for the release of Pakistan’s most popular political leader who is being held solely for political reasons.
The cricketer-turned-politician has been in prison since August 2023 serving a 14-year sentence on corruption charges. Khan has denied these charges alleging they have been cooked up by Pakistan’s army to keep him out of politics.
