The week long Rajasthan government crisis seems to have come to an end today with the dismissal of Sachin Pilot as Deputy Chief Minister. While Sachin was removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, the other ministers who were relieved of their posts include Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena.  The three have been removed from the Rajasthan cabinet of ministers.

All the drama that has been unfolding since the last few days comes to a partial stop, with the Congress party backing Chief Minister Ashol Gehlot who has been a veteran with the Congress and has the support of majority MLAs in the state.

Govind Singh Dotasra has been made the President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) which means he is the state Congress President. Hem Singh Shekhawat has been made the Sewa Dal state President and Ganesh Ghoghra has been made the President of the Youth Congress.

The loyalists to Sachin Pilot and Pilot himself, did not attend the meeting of Rajasthan Congress Legislature Party, inspite of insistence and cajoling from Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and other senior members. Subsequent to this no-show, the mutineers were sacked from the state body.

Speaking to media after the CLP meeting, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala accused the leading national party BJP of misleading Pilot and attempting to tear apart the Rajasthan government.

"We  spoke to Pilot multiple times and told him that all his concerns will be addressed. No other young neta has grown as much as Pilot. We have given him due recognition in the short-term that he was in politics" - Randeep Singh Surjewala

Meanwhile, the BJP state unit has called for an urgent meeting, which will include former Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, Rajendra Rathore and BJP state President Satish Punia.
