Udaipur, January 16,2025 - Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan got injured in an attempted robbery at his Bandra West residence in Mumbai in the early hours of Thursday, January 16, 2025. He is currently undergoing surgery at Lilavati Hospital to treat his stab wounds. Saif’s team confirmed the incident in a statement, asking the media and fans for patience as it is a police matter. They assured that updates would be shared as the situation unfolds.

Incident Details

According to the Mumbai police, an unidentified intruder entered Saif’s residence at around 2:30 a.m. During a confrontation with the actor, Saif sustained injuries from a knife. The actor was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital for medical treatment.

Injuries and Treatment

Lilavati Hospital's COO, Dr. Uttamani, reported that Saif sustained six injuries: two minor, two intermediate, and two deep wounds. One of the deep wounds is located on his back near the spine, requiring the involvement of a neurosurgeon in the surgery.

Police Investigation

The police have not yet confirmed the motive behind the incident but are investigating the possibility of a robbery attempt. A forensic team collected key evidence, including fingerprints from the scene. According to a senior police official, the intruder might be familiar to one of the housekeepers working at the actor’s residence.

Family Involvement

After the incident, Saif’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, quickly rushed to his father's aid. Ibrahim, 23, from Saif’s first marriage to Amrita Singh, took Saif to Lilavati Hospital by 3:30 a.m., an hour after the incident occurred.

Kareena Kapoor's Statement

Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, addressed the situation through her team, assuring that the family was safe. The couple’s children, 8-year-old Taimur and 4-year-old Jeh, were unharmed during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing as the police work to uncover more details.
