Udaipur, October 1, 2024: On the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Udaipur's gold artist and 100-time world record holder, Dr Iqbal Sakka has created two miniature models of Mahatma Gandhi's iconic glasses, his sandals and a boat with oars, which is even smaller than a grain of sugar. This creation, even smaller than a grain of sugar, has set a new world record for being millions of times smaller than the world's largest pair of spectacles made by a company from The Netherlands that is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Dr Sakka will apply to the Guinness Book to document his miniature artworks made of gold to be the smallest in the world. He has even used white glass to make the lenses for Gandhiji’s spectacles, which can be seen through a microscope. Dr Sakka mentioned that it took him seven days to create these models, each measuring just one millimetre in size and weighing 0.010 milligrams.

The artisan plans to donate his artwork to the museum in Porbandar, Gujarat, which is devoted to Mahatma Gandhi. This museum was the erstwhile house of Gandhiji and was converted into a museum by the Indian government. He has already written a letter to the Mahatma Gandhi Museum Committee regarding this. Additionally, he intends to gift another pair of spectacles to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, as a tribute from the people of Rajasthan, in honour of the success of the Swachh Bharat mission. A letter has been written to the Prime Minister to this effect.

Dr Sakka had also showcased these miniature creations with the help of a lens to tourists in Udaipur in areas like Doodh Talai, Moti Magri, Saheliyon Ki Bari and Fateh Sagar.
