Sandvik Mining, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry today established a 6000 square feet Parts Warehouse at Udaipur for catering to aftermarket and maintenance needs of their key customer Hindustan Zinc. The facility was jointly inaugurated today by Akhilesh Joshi, Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Zinc and Ajay Sambrani, Managing Director, Sandvik Asia Private Limited. Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company in Zinc-Lead-Silver is the world’s largest integrated producer of Zinc. Company’s Rampura Agucha Mine is also the world’s largest zinc producing mine and the smelting complex at Chanderiya, the world’s largest single location smelting complex. Sandvik has a large base of both surface and underground mining equipment deployed at the Hindustan Zinc mining locations and supported by a sizeable on-site service team. The Sandvik parts warehouse has been setup at a strategic location in Udaipur to ensure efficient flow of parts and information at the Hindustan Zinc mining sites with optimized delivery schedules. Speaking on the occasion of the warehouse inauguration, Ajay Sambrani, MD, Sandvik Asia Pvt Ltd, said, “Sandvik’s key strategy globally involves securing availability for our valued customers. In a business where time is crucial, a standstill isn’t an option.
