October 22, 2024 – Weddings these days are getting more and more unique what with destination weddings at exotic locations. Conventions are being broken for this special day in the life of the couple. But nothing can beat choosing the Red Sea for the wedding vows. A first of its kind!

Diving enthusiasts Hassan Abu Al-Ola and Yasmine Daftardar from Saudi Arabia sealed their love under the water among coral reefs and marine species off the coast of Jeddah. The duo, who are diving enthusiasts, wanted to showcase the beauty of the sea while promoting a message of ecosystem preservation.

Abu Al-Ola and Daftaradar are both divers and this unique event was organised by their group of fellow divers belonging to the group Saudi Divers. According to a news report, Captain Faisal Flemban led the event. Under his supervision, the diving team arranged for necessary equipment and supplies and the underwater ceremony proceeded smoothly. This blend of romance and adventure broke all traditions and created news waves because exchanging vows under an ocean has never been attempted before.

Apart from the required diving gear, the bride wore a gown while the groom had a black jacket on.

Al-Ola and Yasmine wanted to convey a message about the exploration and preservation of the sea's vast treasures through their underwater wedding. The couple hope this will inspire sea lovers to explore Saudi Arabia’s amazing marine wonders.

The couple expressed their desire to contribute to the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has launched various campaigns for marine tourism and ecosystem protection.

Al-Ola said, “This is just one way we can contribute to realising the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prince of Youth and the visionary leader of our great country.”
