February 18, 2025 - The Supreme Court today has granted YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia interim protection from arrest following multiple FIRs filed against him for his controversial comments in an episode on comedian Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent show. The Court has directed him to co-operate with investigations, surrender his passport and not leave the country. He is also not allowed to take part in any new shows till further orders but can seek police protection in Maharashtra and Assam if he is feeling threatened.

The Bench, comprising of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh, further said: “If any other FIR is lodged against influencer Ranveer Allahabadia over his comments, he shall not be arrested”.

The country’s top Court slammed Allahabadia, also known as Beer Biceps, for his comments terming them “very dirty” and “perverted” and asked if “there is anyone on earth who will like this language?”

Additionally, the Bench, has also questioned the Centre about what it was doing about the obscene content on YouTube.

“We would like you (government) to do something…if the government is willing to do something, we are happy. Otherwise we are not going to leave this vacuum and barren area the way it is being misused by so-called YouTube channels and YouTub era,” the Bench said.
