Monday morning turned dreadful when an elderly woman got killed on the spot by a speeding school bus that ran over her at Savina Main Road. 70 year old Laxmibai Lohar ( in photo) was caught in a sudden mishap while crossing the road near her residence in Savina area. A speeding bus of a private school smashed the old woman, killing her on the spot. Large number of locals including relatives of the deceased gathered on the spot and blocked the road in anger. They demanded urgent and strict action against the accused driver who fled away from the scene immediately after the accident. The situation came under control and the road was cleared after police gave an assurance of taking immediate action. Dinesh Singh SHO, Hiran Magri said, “We are trying to catch the accused driver, and manhunt is on.” Body of the deceased was taken to M.B Hospital for post mortem and later it was handed over to the relatives for funerary rituals.
