Pichola Lake, which supplies water to Udaipur residents, is facing a serious problem due to a blocked sewer line. The blockage has caused a manhole near Ambapol Bridge to overflow, spilling sewerage into the lake and dirtying the nearby streets.
The issue has also affected the area around Hanumanji Temple, where the path is now covered in filth, raising more concerns.
Tej Shankar Paliwal, a former member of the Lake Development Authority, has warned that the situation is getting worse. He explained that the problem is made worse by the closure of the Ambamata Pump House, which causes the sewer line to overflow even more.
The Udaipur Municipal Corporation needs to act quickly to fix the sewer line and stop further contamination of the lake. This will help keep the lake’s water clean and safe.
