In a concerning turn of events, the renowned Pichola Lake appears to be overshadowed by persistent issues. Despite substantial investments, both from the Smart City Project and the Municipal Corporation, officials have struggled to contain the flow of sewer water into the lake. Alarming reports indicate that, in several locations, sewage is still directly entering the lake, while in other areas, substantial volumes of clean water are needlessly draining into the sewage system. 

Delays in constructing new pipelines and pumping stations have further hindered progress on this critical endeavor. The situation remains a matter of grave concern, as efforts to preserve the pristine beauty of Pichola Lake continue to face numerous challenges.

Every month, a substantial sum of money is being squandered on the continuous upkeep of the contaminated lake. The most grievous issue plaguing this expansive body of water, which stretches across a radius of four and a half kilometers, is the presence of a sewer line running through its bed, with multiple leakages that are contaminating the lake's waters. 

Additionally, there are numerous locations surrounding the lake where sewage and unclean water are directly flowing into it. Authorities responsible for addressing this situation are candidly stating that a resolution is expected once the new sewer line is implemented as part of the Smart City project.
