Two successful Bariatric Surgeries for obesity have been conducted at the Shrimati Manabai Murdiya and Shantiraj Hospital Private Limited by Dr. Sapan Jain, Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric surgeon. The operations took place on 15^th June. The surgeries were done on an Udaipur based Marble businessman and a woman from Madhya Pradesh.

This is first hospital to conduct Bariatric surgery in southern Rajasthan, said Naresh Sharma, Director of Shrimati Manabai Murdiya and Shantiraj Hospital Private Limited. He said that both patients Praveen Jain whose weight before operation was 101Kg and Usha Kiran whose weight was 92Kg are fit and already discharged from hospital.

“After operation, patient’s weight will start deceasing at the rate of 10-15kg per month and will become stable at 55-58kg”, said Rakesh Choudhary, Manager of hospital.

According to Naresh Sharma, the hospital conducts various surgeries related to obesity. “Shantiraj Hospital also hosts several free check-up camps and screening camps for consultancy. In the last camp 15 patients registered for various surgeries”.

Rakesh Choudhary has informed that the hospital offers various facilities including MRI, Digital X-Ray, Sonography, Color Dopler, TMT, 2-D eco and all tests of Pathology. There are facilities of accommodation for relatives of patients and a 24 hour Ambulance Service.
