It was the 2nd stage of protest by the bank employees. The United Forum of Bank Unions did a show down on Thursday outside the PNB branch at Town Hall road.

The demands of the bank employees have remained unfulfilled since a long time and this has provoked a countrywide protest. The employees have demanded that the 11th pay commission be enforced at the earliest. 

Since last one month, the employees are resorting to strikes and protests demanding that all the points mentioned by the employees be acted upon at the earliest. 

Apart from the 11th pay commission, the employees are demanding a 5-day week, amendment in the pension policies, cancellation of new pension policy, special allowance be merged with the basic allowance, and stop outsourcing with immediate effect.
