Six-member ministerial committee submits report; CM Bhajan Lal to take final decision
Udaipur, October 15, 2024 - A six-member ministerial committee, formed to review the 2021 SI recruitment exam paper leak case, has submitted its report to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma before he left for his foreign tour. Sources say the committee has recommended cancelling the 2021 recruitment exam and conducting re-exam for the candidates. However, the final decision on this matter will be taken by the CM.
Through this recruitment, 859 posts were filled of which around 50 selected candidates have been arrested. A total of 75 people are being held in connection with the SI recruitment.
The six-member panel, led by Law Minister Jogaram Patel, had completed reviewing the possibilities on Thursday, October 10, but finalising the report took time. The report was prepared based on feedback from officials of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the State Home Department.
The committee has already acknowledged that there were severe irregularities in the SI exam. Several options existed before the members. These included conducting a re-exam for only those candidates who had previously appeared; cancelling the recruitment entirely or dismissing the selected candidates who have been arrested or are under the scanner of the SOG, while retaining the rest in service.
