SIR Deadline Extended to December 11
CEO Naveen Mahajan releases revised schedule of SIR; says 100% work completed in 15 Assembly constituencies and four districts in the State
Udaipur, Dec 1, 2025 - The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the relevant dates for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls by one week in 12 States and Union Territories and has announced a revised schedule. The qualifying date has been set as January 1, 2026.
This information was given by Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan who shared the revised schedule as follows:
- Enumeration Phase: Until December 11, 2025
- Publication of Draft Voter List: December 16, 2025
- Period for Filing Claims and Objections: From December 16, 2025, to January 15, 2026
- Notice Stage (issuance, hearing, verification); decisions on enumeration forms and disposal of claims and objections by the ERO will be carried out simultaneously — from December 16, 2025, to February 7, 2026
- Final Publication of Voter List: February 14, 2026
Mahajan informed that of a total of 5,46,56,215 enumeration forms in the State, more than 5.24 crore forms have already been uploaded on the ECI-Net, achieving 95.9% completion ahead of the prescribed timeline. This success is a result of technological efficiency, teamwork and continuous monitoring at the district level.
He added that BLOs at more than 25,000 polling booths in the State have completed 100% of their work. Districts including Barmer, Salumbar, Balotra and Jhalawar have achieved 100% digitisation of enumeration forms. Similarly, 15 Assembly constituencies — Khanpur, Siwana, Dug, Manohar Thana, Bhinmal, Salumbar, Chohtan, Pachpadra, Rajgarh-Laxmangarh, Gudamalani, Jhalrapatan, Bari, Shiv, and Barmer — have also completed 100% digitisation of enumeration forms.
