The world is full of surprises and the world of technology adds to it. Someone searched over Google for something randomly or out of curiosity and to his/her sheer surprise the answer by the search engine created an outrage amongst the netizens.

A search for “the ugliest language in India” brought out the answer which was most shocking for the Kannadigas as Google reflected Kannada as the ugliest language. It said, “The answer is Kannada, a language spoken by around 40 million people in South India.”

The screenshot of the Google search has been shared a lot over social media. The answer was sourced from a website named debtconsolidationsquad.com, the page now shows an error response. The same page earlier featured a list of 15 questions including “the most beautiful language in India” and the “the easiest language in India”.

Aarvind Limbavali, Kannada and Culture Minister said that legal action will be taken against Google. However, one of the spokesperson from Google said that sometimes the way a content is described on the net can yield surprising results. "We know this is not ideal, but we take swift corrective action when we are made aware of an issue and are continually working to improve our algorithms. Naturally, these are not reflective of the opinions of Google, and we apologise for the misunderstanding and hurting any sentiments."
