In the era of greed, selfishness and disrespect an example of responsibility, asceticism and love for parents got displayed in today’s Sharawan Yatra by a resident of the city.

Sunil Devpura, a resident of Khempura, whose parents Prem Narayan Devpura and Vimla Devpura are old and physically unable to walk, took an unusual step to serve his parents’ last wish of going on pilgrimage.

Due to his poor financial condition, Sunil could not take them on a long pilgrimage so he decided to take them to Jagdish temple. Taking an inspiration from Shrawan Kumar, a mythological character, he stepped out today from Bhoiwara carrying his parents through a balance on his shoulders towards Jagdish temple.

Sunil is priest in a small  devsthan at his home and takes care of his parents and younger brother, who is mentally ill and unable to work; he and his family lives on whatever they get from the donation of the devotees who visit the  devsthan.
