MLSU Election: The candidates have filed their nominations for upcoming Student Union Elections. Total 9 students from different political groups enrolled their names for various posts including the Prresident. One candidate of NSUI has withdrawn his name at the last moment.

Student candidates with their supporters rallied to the office of Student Welfare Board chanting slogans and wishing luck to their candidates.

One of the candidates of NSUI has withdrawn his name from the post of President. Satish Meena has allegedly gone underground. It is assumed that the recent clash between NSUI members over the nomination issue could be the reason of Meena’s withdrawal.

Contestants from NSUI including Rajendra Singh Chundawat for General Secretary, Palkansh Rao for Vice president and Hitesh Paliwal for Joint Secretary position filed their nomination today.

ABVP contestants Nayan Kalra for President, Madan Sahu for vice president, Sandeep Sharma for General Secretary and Chirag Jain for Joint Secretary have also enrolled for their respective positions.

Paramveer Singh Chundawat is the only Presidential candidate from Chatra Sangarsh Samiti (CSS). Paramveer is son of D.S Chundawat, the Dean of M.B College, Udaipur.

Parvat Singh Rana, an ex- NSUI member who is also allegedly involved in brawl in NSUI meeting is the only independent candidate in the election. There is a police case registered against Parvat Singh for his alleged involvement.

The final list will come tomorrow from the election officer after the scrutiny of the forms and reports of enquiry about the candidates’ background.

Though all the candidates are sure about their names but there is some confusion over the name of Parvat Singh Rana. Only the time will answer this query and therefore the supporters have kept their fingers cross and they are waiting anxiously for tomorrow.
