Even after one year of admission, 60 students of Faculty of Management Studies are still waiting to get their laptops, which they have already paid for at the time of admission. In a distressed state, students gathered at the Office of the College Dean today but did not receive any satisfactory response.
Along with the admission fee, the college administration also adds Tuition and Laptop fees, which total Rs.75,000. Students have complained that even after one year, they have not received the Laptop. The College however has offered them a compensation of Rs. 15,000 each, but the students did not accept it.
“No good Laptop costs Rs.15000, so it is better that they get us laptop; we don’t want money”, said a student on condition of anonymity.
A group of students led by Himanshu Jat, Student Leader went to the director Dr. P.K Jain’s office but he was not there. Students also approached the Vice Chancellor who assured them to take action once the college authority is available.
Many students of the batch have already purchased laptops on their own and now are asking for refund.
So, at one end we have government schemes offering free laptops and tablets to students, and on the other hand, government institutions are not giving laptops even after charging the students a considerable amount.
