KK Gupta has appealed to the administration to prioritise cleanliness and reduce diseases
Udaipur, October 21, 2024 - Given the rise in serious illnesses in Udaipur city, KK Gupta, the State Coordinator for the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) in Rajasthan, has asked the district administration to prioritise cleanliness. He claimed that the city and its surroundings are unclean, and if this persists, there will be an even higher number of instances of diseases here.
Gupta has made an appeal to the administration and residents of the city regarding this and lamented that the government machinery was not paying adequate attention to the Swachh Bharat Mission. He said the Prime Minister has appealed to every citizen of the country to join this mission and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also has emphasised cleanliness, but no attention is being paid to this in Udaipur district.
Gupta made a special mention of Dungarpur where, he said, focus was on cleanliness and this had been achieved because of awareness among the people.
Udaipur has been seeing a spike in diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya just after the monsoon season. Hospitals across the state are filled with hundreds of patients. One of the main reasons for the spread of such diseases is the lack of cleanliness, says the official.
