The long awaited idol of Swami Vivekananda has been installed at Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Campus (MLSU); the 12 ft. high idol will be officially unveiled tentatively on 1st July, when colleges are expected to reopen.

The long awaited idol of Swami Vivekananda has been installed at Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Campus (MLSU); the 12 ft. high idol will be officially unveiled tentatively on 1st July, when colleges are expected to reopen.

According to contractor of the site this idol was shaped in Jaipur and arrived in Udaipur on 21st June, the statue is moulded in a standing position which is established on a 10 ft. high platform in the garden outside Auditorium; the statue approximately weighs around 1500 Kgs.

Contractor further informed that a separate contract will be issued by UMC for timely maintenance of these statues, including the pre-installed ones.

Pankaj Borana, Ex-President of Student Union informs, following the interests of fellow students the Mayor was requested for installation of idol of Swami Vivekananda in the University campus.

Sources informed that similar statues will also be installed at Meera Girls College, Deen Dayal Upadhya Park Dudh Talai and Fatehsagar. The idols will be established at various public places in the city with the efforts of Udaipur Municipal Corporation, after spending sum of around 33 Lac rupees.
