Wait seems to be getting over. With a very good of rainfall hitting Udaipur and the surrounding region, lakes of Udaipur have been receiving steady stream of water.

All the four gates of Swaroop Sagar were opened yesterday after it hit the 10.5 ft mark. Though the total capacity of the lake is of 11ft but the gates were opened considering the heavy gush coming from Sisarma. Considering the water released from Dewas and Madri dam, Water Irrigation department 2 gates of Swaroop Sagar by 6 inches and 2 gates were opened by 1 ft. Dewas outlet was flowing at 1 inch whereas 2 gates of Madri dam have been opened. Sisarma was flowing at 4.5 ft yesterday.

With steady water inflow from Swaroop Sagar link channel and Bada Madaar, Fateh Sagar also galloped past the 10 ft mark. It may be noted that once the water level of Fateh Sagar crosses 11ft, the link channel will be closed and the dependence will then move completely to Madar.

With water flowing from both the Madar water bodies, Thoor ki Pal recorded a 1 ft water flow.

All eyes are now set on Fateh Sagar. Hopefully in a week’s time Udaipurites will be set to witness the prettiest scene of the year.
