SUNEL: The leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, delivered a sermon today at Saifee Masjid in Saifeepura on the occasion of the death anniversary of Imam Hasan ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
While addressing more than 8,500 community members in Sunel, including those who traveled from nearby towns and villages and the many who had come from abroad to attend the sermon, Syedna Saifuddin emphasised the importance of agriculture in the region, where approximately 60% of the population is engaged in agricultural activities.
Syedna drew inspiration from the examples set by the Prophet Muhammad and his progeny, who actively participated in, and valued agricultural practices. He urged local community members to continue to cultivate the arable land available in the region which can lead to prosperity and sustainability for future generations.
He noted that the region is naturally suited to agriculture due to the abundant rainfall it receives, and encouraged community members to implement effective planning strategies to ensure that the rainfall is captured and directed into the ground through rainwater harvesting.
In closing his sermon, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin stated that knowledge and wisdom are as essential to personal growth as a flourishing agricultural land is to one’s prosperity. Just as well-tended fields yield bountiful crops, the cultivation of knowledge and wisdom nurtures good character and fosters the development of better human beings.
Syedna arrived in Sunel from Bhawani Mandi on Sunday, September 1. On the same day, he led cultural programs and inaugurated the newly renovated Badri Masjid in Moyyedpura.
During his visit to Sunel, Syedna is meeting with community members to inquire about their well-being. He is also expected to engage with students and faculty at Haideri School, encouraging and guiding them in their journey in the pursuit of knowledge.
Syedna is currently visiting towns and villages in the Jhalawar district across the southeastern part of Rajasthan. Over 550 Dawoodi Bohra families reside in Sunel and are involved mostly in trading and retail businesses.
