Prolonged enclosure deprives a beast of its natural instincts.

Tiger T-24 or Ustad has been in enclosure for more than a month. News has it that it may never be kept in the display area or even be released in the forest. Ustad is in enclosure on a one-hectare area in the biological park for over a month. It may be noted that it is more than 15 years old.

As informed by the forest officers, T-24 had suffered stomach ailments only a short while after it was brought to the Bio-Park. It was even operated for this issue. Though it has undergone treatment and is reportedly healthy, it will never be kept in the display area.

It may also be noted that it was declared as man-eater after it attacked humans in 2015 in Ranthambhore. Hence its enclosure. The average life span of a tiger is as it is 15 years.

There are certain facts related to such wild beasts like tigers and leopards. These facts reveal that once a tiger or a leopard is kept in enclosure for a longer period, it loses its natural habits and become unfit for hunting and hence it cannot even be released in the forest. The natural behaviour of the beasts gets disturbed and they tend to become lethargic ultimately unable to hunt for their food. Even its territory is likely to be taken over by the other beasts. The other beasts are also likely to have a tug of war for the territory which usually results in killing of the weaker one.
