Dinesh Tarwadi, Vice president of the Rajasthan State Schedule Caste Commission today exposed an alleged electricity theft along the Goverdhan-Balicha stretch. The electricity department has confirmed the theft and has promised action against whosoever is found guilty.

The exposure of this electricity theft was an accidental find. Dinesh Tarwadi had gone to inspect the spot where a man was found dead on 4 December 2011 by allegedly falling off the bridge according to Police.

However the family members of the deceased claimed it a murder and demanded enquiry. Tarwadi on request of the family members of the victim Yashwant, who used to work as a security guard at nearby car showroom at Balicha, went to check the spot with his subordinates and police officials when he suddenly discovered electric wires passing underneath the ground.

Suspecting it as an illegal electricity supply done by unknown people, Tarwadi informed AEN, JEN and senior engineer of electricity department and had the wires pulled out with the help of the team that was accompanying him.

Tarwadi said “I came here to inspect the spot where Yashwant was found dead last December but found that four wires were joined illegally with electricity poles and hidden under the ground”

Junior Engineer Ashish Jha arrived on the spot and told media that, “We will take out the exact load consumption and will draft a Vigilance Checking Report, and whoever is found guilty will be prosecuted as per the law”
