Panchayti Raj Teachers of Udaipur habe demanded to void the decision of primary school’s consolidation across the district today. They have also given a memorandum to State Education Minister Kalicharan Sharaf under the banner of Panchayati Raj Shikshak Sandh.

Sher Singh, District President, Panchayati Raj Shikshak Sandh, informed that consolidation of Primary and Upper Primary schools does not have any preset standards. The consolidation is encouraging privatization in Primary and Upper Primary Schools.

Sher Singh added that teachers of primary schools under the banner of Panchayti Raj Shikshak Sandh, have given a memorandum to Education Minister during his visit at State Institute of Education, Research and Training (SIERT) earlier this morning. Prior to this teachers took out a rally from Town Hall campus.

The memorandum says that education in Primary and Upper Primary is being assigned to respective Panchayat, as per constitution. In such a case consolidation becomes illegal. The decision has deprived more than 2 lac students from taking primary education across district.
