The Municipal Corporation’s garbage stand near the Government Girls Senior Secondary School in the central area is causing major problems for students and local residents. The garbage is not being collected regularly, making it difficult for the students to pass through and sit in their classrooms due to the foul smell.
Local residents are also facing trouble due to the unpleasant odor. Despite repeated complaints from the school administration and locals, the Municipal Corporation has not taken any concrete steps to solve the issue.
Bharat Salvi, the councilor of Ward 33, stated that hotel owners are dumping garbage at the center during the night. people from distant areas also come to dispose of their garbage at the spot. Dogs are further spreading the garbage from the stand onto the road, adding to the mess. Residents in the area are frustrated by the situation.
On the other hand, Satyanarayan Sharma, the head of the Corporation’s Health Department, mentioned that garbage collection is being carried out regularly. He assured that those dumping waste unnecessarily are being monitored, and the contractor has been instructed to ensure regular garbage collection.
