Encroachment on the land allotted for Colony Temple has been brought under the knowledge of UMC, whereby a resident of Gokul Nagar-Bohra Ganesh area encroached on temple land whereas other dwellers of the colony gave memorandum to UMC Commissioner for taking appropriate action.
The matter unfolds with a fact that almost 40 years ago Gokul Lal Mehta had plotted the whole land of Gokul Nagar into equivalent plots, which was later sold to private entities and one plot was spared for religious activities and erection of Colony temple.
It is the same land where a wall has been raised at one end with private business intentions whereas on the other end of the vacant plot a store has opened illegal entrance.
According to Vivek Sharma, President, Gokul Nagar Samiti, at the entrance of Gokul Nagar the land which has been allotted for temple is encroached by Sushil Jain by raising wall on the land; while on the other end of the plot Jinedra General Store, located outside colony campus has illegally opened entrance on the side of the colony.
The locality falls under UMC Corporator Shamita Upadahaya (Ward 36), who informed that colony has raised fund for erecting temple on the land; on behalf of the residents she has given memorandum to UMC Commissioner and Mayor as well.
Another resident of the colony informed that regarding the issue Gokul Nagar Samiti will also plea before District Collector tomorrow on July 25.
