During his budget speech, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that testing has started for the eagerly anticipated Vande Bharat Sleeper trains and Vande Metro. He also confirmed the approval for 50 more Amrit Bharat trains. The trains underwent a redesign to enhance passenger comfort and improve service quality. The ministry anticipates the upcoming launch of the sleeper version of Vande Bharat trains and the Vande Metro.

Offers Improved Amenities

• The Amrit Bharat Express offers improved amenities for railway travelers.
• The Amrit Bharat train is equipped with LHB push-pull coaches that do not include air conditioning.
• These enhancements feature improved seating, upgraded luggage racks, mobile charging points with convenient holders, LED lighting, CCTV monitoring, and enhanced public information systems.
• Locomotives are positioned at both ends to enhance acceleration capabilities.

The minister mentioned that testing has commenced for the sleeper version of Vande Bharat trains and the Vande Metro, and production of Vande Bharat trains is now occurring at a frequency of approximately one per week or every 10 days. Amrit Bharat debuted in January, and in accordance with standard protocol for new trains, one unit is allocated for testing. Approval has been granted for fifty Amrit Bharat trains, and construction is currently in progress.
