A general store became a victim of theft in Pratapnagar. Shri Maha Lakshmi general store situated at main road near Pacific University was robbed off on Wednesday night. The wall of the store was broken and all cash and other products were stolen.

The owner of the shop came to know of the theft when he went to open the shop on Thursday morning. After opening the shutter, he found that his shop had been ransacked and a hole was made in the wall.

Police checked CCTV footage of the area. 7 boxes of ghee, 2 boxes of oil, other ration stuff and 2 thousand rupees kept in the money drawer. Rajesh Sharma, the shop owner, said that he has suffered a loss of almost 35000 rupees because of this theft.

On the other hand, it has been reported that instead of sympathising and assuring of action against the criminals, police went to the extent of instructing the shop keeper to make thicker and stronger walls so that no one can break them.

Rajesh Sharma and the residents of the area said that a number of thefts have occurred in their area but there is no police for night watch. Public is agitated police is not bothered about the thefts happening in this area.
