Three parts of palace were discovered recently by the team of archaeologists working at Chandrawati Archaeological Research Project. The place is located on a small hill behind the museum and excavation process is going on.

Three parts of palace were discovered recently by the team of archaeologists working at Chandrawati Archaeological Research Project. The place is located on a small hill behind the museum and excavation process is going on.

The project is backed by state government and is conducted by History, Culture and Archaeological department of Shramjeevi College.

The aim of archaeologists is to discover the city of Chandrawati and understand the culture and statute. Dr. Jeevan Kharakwal, senior archaeologist said, “Chandrawati city was spread in 150 Biga area and was located on the shores of Banas and Shivrani Rivers.”

“The city was destroyed probably due to natural reasons and was buried under ground. The work of excavation will continue for next three years” added Dr. Kharakwal.

Vice Chancellor of Vidyapeeth, S.S. Sarangdevot and other top officials visited the excavation site.
