The students of Tirupati College of Nursing protested for their demands on Friday 17 March, 2023 and got the college closed. The protest was conducted by more than 500 nursing students and created chaos outside the college. The police administration reached the spot and heard the demands of the students and resolved the matter by giving them assurance to complete the demands soon.
The reason behind the protest
Udit Pandya, a student of the college from 2017-18 batch claimed that he is not getting a job despite completing his nursing degree due to non-registration. Even when he gets selected for the job, the job is not provided to him. For this Udit Pandya has talked with the college administration in the past as well but there was no response from the college.
In the month of February 2023, Pandya had gone on strike regarding this matter but the college gave seven-days extension and did not register anything. Although surety was given but till now there has been no action. Students left with no choice except protesting again for the matter.
Pandya said that two students of the college, out of which Tarun Vaishnav was selected in AIIMS Bhopal and due to lack of registration, did not get the job. RLC (NOC) is not available with the college to get this course done. So far only the first batch of nursing students of 2016 have been registered.
“All students have been provided provisional registration numbers held by RLC. This whole matter is pending in the court. The original registration will be made available by the RLC only after the decision of the court which will come after the end of this month.” - Sunil Joshi, Principal of the college
