Udaipur, December 6,2024 - Efforts to improve traffic between RK Circle and Shobhagpura have slowed down. An 80-foot-wide, 1.75 km road stretch was cleared and turned into a gravel road earlier this year. For a few days, traffic moved smoothly. However, work stopped, and piles of soil and gravel have blocked the road for several days.
This blockage is for road tarring, but no work has started yet. It has been nearly eight months, and the road is still closed. People now have to either take narrow lanes or a longer route (2-3 km) via RK Circle and Shobhagpura to reach the 100 Feet Road near Ashok Palace.
The road dispute with the landowner was resolved in May, and work started in June. Vehicles were allowed for a short time after a gravel road was made, but now it is fully closed.
Officials say the work is in the final stage and will be completed in the next seven days. Once finished, this road will provide a direct route from RK Circle to Ashoka Palace.
