In a significant development for commuters in the city, traffic congestion at the Fatehpura intersection has eased following the completion of road division work. This improvement comes after months of effort to alleviate bottlenecks and enhance convenience for travellers. The bottleneck, which originated from cleaning activities at the Fatehpura intersection near RK Circle, had been causing considerable delays. However, with the completion of the road division project, drivers now have smoother access to two distinct routes: one leading to Sukhadia Circle on the left, and the other straight to Fatehpura Police Station.
The widening of the road, exceeding 100 feet in width, has addressed longstanding issues of vehicle congestion, particularly for larger vehicles like Auto Rickshaws. The initiative to tackle congestion at the Fatehpura intersection began approximately five months ago, with concerted efforts to remove obstructing buildings along the route. Over a period of 71 days leading up to December 6 last year, authorities undertook three separate actions to clear the roadway, improving passage for commuters.
According to a recent survey conducted by UDA, the Fatehpura intersection witnesses a daily pressure of 66,445 Passenger Car Units (PCUs). This intersection serves as a crucial gateway for vehicles travelling to and from various cities, including Nathdwara-Jaipur, Mount Abu, Jodhpur, Ranakpur, and Ajmer.
The completion of the road division work marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure and alleviate traffic congestion in the city.
