Train with 1151 Departs for Jain Holy Sites

Punjab Governor flags off the 12-day pilgrimage to Sammed Shikharji

Udaipur, October 14, 2024 - A 12-day religious pilgrimage to Sammed Shikharji was flagged off by Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria from Rana Pratap Nagar railway station, Udaipur, yesterday, October 13. Present on the occasion were MLAs Tarachand Jain and Phool Singh Meena, District Collector Arvind Poswal and more than 3,000 members of the Jain community.

This tour has been organised by Jain social group International Mewar-Marwar Region Udaipur and has 1151 passengers on board, including 108 differently-abled, widows and those with economical weak backround.

According to Arun Mandot, chairman-elect of the group, the train will visit various sacred sites. The route will include Meerut, Hastinapur, Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Varanasi before reaching Sammed Shikharji. The pilgrims will return to Udaipur on October 24.
