The countrywide strike of All India Motor Transport Congress has affected business worth rupees 2500 crores in Udaipur. There has been no loading of daily supplies of vegetables and fruits in the past 5 days.

Transport strike has affected life to a great deal. People using roadways buses for daily transport are facing the trouble of being stranded for hours in search of vehicle for reaching home. 587 roadways employees did not operate buses on Wednesday. This affected 12 thousand passengers as private bus operators reportedly started charging double the amount.

The sixth day of strike has also affected kitchens. Vegetables are either not available or have become expensive beyond expectations. There has been a jump of almost 30 rupees a kilo in vegetables and fruits. As it is, Friday being Poornima the vegetable mandis will remain closed which means people will be forced to buy vegetables on Thursday at those heavy rates.
