Tree Plantation, Drawing, Rally by tribals on World Environment Day

Anthropological Survey of India, Western Regional Center, Udaipur observed the "World Environmental Day" today. On this occasion, men, women and children belonging to different tribal communities from some of the villages in Udaipur District were invited and a workshop was organised to bring the awareness of the importance of the environment day.

On the eventful day, tree plantation activity was held in the office campus. Some eminent scholars in the field such as Prof. B.R. Bamniya, Prof and Head, Dept of Environmental Sciences, Mohanlal Sukhadia University; Dr. Satish Sharma, Dept. Of Forest, Udaipur; Dr. J.P. Singh Jhala, Programme Director, Jagran Jan VikasSamiti; Bhagwan Lal Khachawa, ex-ACO, TRI and other scholars delivered a speech.

A rally was also organised with about 100 tribal children invited and drawing and quiz competing were also arranged on this occasion. Interaction with the tribals was also undertaken and the experts in herbal medicine (Gunis) were also invited to deliver lectures.
