Tribal Women to raise voice against Sexual Harassment

Nearly 150 women from 15 villages around Udaipur’s tribal area have taken oath to raise voice against any incident of sexual or physical harassment against women and girls and will also encourage relatives and other villagers too. The women also decided to report such cases to police and follow the legal procedures to get the justice.

Group of women were gathered in a conference organized by Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, at Shrey Bharati Kendra, Sakroda.

The program was held to create awareness among the tribal and rural women of such intolerance and to inspire them to raise their voice against any harassment they face or come to know. Women also decided to become more vigilant and will spread the words to other women of villages, family members and neighbors.

Women also gave tribute to the Delhi gang-rape victim and kept two minute silence for her.

Dr. Manju Mandot of Women Research Centre shared legal aspects. Dr. Lalit Pandey, Director of public education board also shared his views and admired the decision of all present women audience.
